Roles and Responsibilities of Editors
Ensuring the credibility, ethical integrity, and excellence of Betta Health Equity publications through transparent and independent editorial leadership.
1. Editorial Independence
- Authority and Decision-Making: Editors hold full authority over content selection, ensuring publication decisions are based solely on intellectual merit, originality, and relevance.
- Independence from External Pressures: Editorial judgment must remain free from influence by sponsors, publishers, or other external entities.
- Appeals Process: Editors must implement a transparent system to address appeals or disputes, maintaining fairness and accountability.
2. Ethical Oversight
- Adherence to Ethical Standards: Editors must ensure compliance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines.
- Research Misconduct: Editors must detect and address plagiarism, data falsification, and other forms of misconduct.
- Consent and Ethical Approvals: Ensure that all human and animal studies include ethical approvals and informed consent.
