Archiving & Preservation Policy - Betta Health Equity

Archiving and Preservation Policy

We are committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all scholarly content published under Betta Health Equity, maintaining accessibility and integrity for future generations.

Commitment to Long-term Archiving

We are committed to preserving all published content to ensure it remains available to future generations. This includes articles, supplementary materials, and associated metadata, maintaining accessibility even amidst technological or organizational changes.

Archiving Practices

We employ robust digital archiving practices to safeguard the long-term availability of all published material:

  • Archiving of Published Content: All articles and supplementary materials are securely archived and made available in widely accepted digital formats that ensure long-term access.
  • Metadata Preservation: Key metadata such as author details, publication dates, citations, and DOI information is preserved for future accessibility and accurate citation.

Open Access and Public Access

All articles published are freely accessible in line with our open-access model. We aim to ensure that research is available without barriers, providing full access to final published versions and supplementary materials.

Preservation Formats

We preserve all content in standard, widely used formats that support long-term access, such as:

  • PDF: Full-text articles preserved in PDF format to remain readable across devices.

Supplementary Materials Preservation

All supplementary materials — including datasets, figures, tables, and videos — are archived alongside main articles. These materials remain accessible to support reproducibility and enhance research transparency.

DOI and Persistent Identifiers

Each article published is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure reliable identification and persistent access, even if URLs change. DOIs facilitate accurate citation and tracking.

Withdrawal and Retraction of Articles

If articles require withdrawal or retraction due to errors or misconduct, a retraction notice will be issued, and the article will remain in the archive marked as retracted to maintain transparency.

Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards

We preserve and archive all content in compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and privacy regulations. Personal data is handled according to data protection and ethical publishing standards.

Monitoring and Review

We routinely review our archiving and preservation practices to align with evolving industry standards and technologies, ensuring the continued effectiveness of our preservation efforts.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that our preservation strategies continue to meet the highest standards in academic publishing.
