Open Access Policy
We are committed to advancing the dissemination of scholarly knowledge by adhering to the principles of Open Access (OA). This policy ensures unrestricted access to published research, fostering a global exchange of ideas and supporting academic, professional, and public communities.
Scope
This policy applies to all articles published in Betta journals and ensures compliance with international Open Access standards, including the requirements of repositories of open access journals such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Open Access Model
Betta operates under a Gold Open Access model, meaning all articles are freely available online immediately upon publication. Articles published in Betta journals are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, unless otherwise specified. This license permits:
- Free access to articles for reading, downloading, and sharing without any access barriers such as registration or subscription requirements
- Redistribution and adaptation of the content provided the original work is appropriately cited.
- Use of content for commercial and non-commercial purposes, enhancing the global reach of research findings.

Author Rights and Responsibilities
- Acknowledgements: Authors must ensure that all funding sources and institutional affiliations are disclosed.
- Ethical Standards: Authors must adhere to Betta’s ethical guidelines, including ensuring originality, proper attribution of sources, and compliance with ethical approval processes for research involving human or animal subjects.
Repository Policy
- Preprint Archiving: Authors may deposit preprint versions of their manuscripts in recognized repositories prior to submission to Betta.
- Post-Publication Archiving: Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or personal websites, ensuring appropriate citation.
- Indexing and Discoverability: Betta collaborates with indexing services and databases to maximize the discoverability of published articles.
Open Access Resources and Support
- Author Support: Betta provides resources and guidance on Open Access policies, including FAQs, webinars, and direct assistance from the editorial team.

- Education and Advocacy:Betta advocates for Open Access publishing through participation in global initiatives and adherence to best practices.
Policy Review and Updates
Betta’s Open Access Policy is reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with evolving Open Access standards, funding agency requirements, and global best practices. Updates to this policy will be communicated to authors, reviewers, and editors.
